Description

Taken on a very cold winters day in Shropshire while I was home visiting for Christmas. It has to be the most spectacular sunset I have seen there in years and I was glad I had my camera within grabbing distance!

So first thing to say is ooooo, I love the colours! It's so rustic and beautiful and bright, I made a little giggle when I saw it... Seriously, I actually giggled. What you did with the colours are wonderful in this photo and the only real piece of advice that I can give is the rule of thirds. Its a big thing in photography and sometimes it makes sense to bypass it, but in this piece I think it could have made it feel a bit more cohesive. If you had angled the camera a couple degrees lower so that some more of the black at the bottom came into the image, taking up one third of the frame, the trees would then take up most of the next third (or you could crop the image till it is an even third) and then cut away a bit of the sky it would have made this photo perfect. The only real problem with the sky as it is is that the top half of the photo is very repetitive, the sky is almost identical. In full view, where the image lies right above the watermark would probably be a great place to look into cropping it.
Overall, wonderful sunset, the colours are fantastic and I find myself wanting to clap at the interesting features along the bottom. However, a little bit more meticulousness with technique could have made this image just *that* much better.
